Adding a photo to one's locket immediately makes it a personalized locket, or a storytelling piece that is precious to its owner. This custom engraved locket will become a timeless piece of heirloom jewelry, destined to be shared across generations. Engraved photo lockets can be both charms to add to a pendant chain or bracelet, or they can be completed necklaces that can be layered with other pieces from one’s jewelry box. The engraved locket necklaces can be worn short or long, and come in a variety of metals. An engraved silver locket should be created from sterling silver, a metal that has a long, centuries-old history in fine jewelry. Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and should bear a 925 or sterling hallmark to verify the quality. For our engraveable gold lockets, we use only 18k gold. We think the rich heritage of 18k gold and its higher gold content (it is 75% pure gold), is the best metal choice for a luxury heirloom style. When we engrave your locket here at Monica Rich Kosann, we use only a high quality diamond point engraving. This allows us to provide an exceptional quality engraving that has a deep, rich feel and appearance. We love a script font to provide a touch of old-world elegance, while a clean block font can be a modern and contemporary take on engraving.
