The traditional idea of the tennis bracelet is generally rooted in what was once called a diamond line bracelet. That all began in 1978 at the U.S. Open women's tennis championship in Forest Hills, NY.%expanded-mobile%

World Champion Chris Evert was playing a match on center court when her diamond bracelet fell off. Play was halted until she recovered the bracelet.%expanded-desktop%

From that day forward, these types of diamond “line” bracelets became known as tennis bracelets. Over the years the idea of the tennis bracelet took on new forms and incorporated new gemstones apart from diamonds. When we met Chris Evert in 2021 and began talking to her about creating a tennis bracelet collection that she would be part of for the first time in forty years, we knew that we both wanted to collection to be true to the original diamond bracelets, but to also feature styles that would allow for more accessible price points as well. It was with that in mind that we created a variety of sapphire tennis bracelet styles that would be part of The Tennis Bracelet – CE, the collection we have created in collaboration with Chris Evert. The additional tag lines for the collection say everything about its origins at the U.S. Open four decades ago: Born 1978, Finally Authentic. Within the collection, we created a range of white sapphire tennis bracelets, all offered in sterling silver. The white sapphire tennis bracelet, with our rhodium-finished sterling silver, offers the luster of white gold metal, and the sparkle of our exquisitely cut white sapphires. Also in the collection are special edition and everyday blue sapphire tennis bracelets, with the special edition pieces offering a special type of exclusivity. If we can help with more information regarding our sapphire tennis bracelets, or if you’d like to create a custom designed white gold sapphire tennis bracelet, please reach out to one of our MRK Stylists at concierge@monicarichkosann.com.
